Credentials

Shell Green Banded HSE rating. Chevron HES Grade A.

AEC holds the highest safety credentials awarded by both of its major clients. Shell Pakistan's Green Banded HSE rating — achieved through the 2018 Achilles SQS audit — and Chevron's HES Grade A are independently verified and require sustained on-site performance, not just documentation. These are not baseline certifications.

Safety Philosophy

No task is urgent enough to compromise safety.

Every person who comes to site goes home. Supervisors are empowered to stop work; workers are trained to raise concerns without fear. Our HSE culture is built from the top down, with leadership accountability at every level — making safety the method, not the overhead.

Site Protocols

Consistent discipline across every site, every shift.

Permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, and pre-task risk assessments are standard on every AEC project. PPE compliance is enforced without exception. For hazardous area work in live terminals, the same standards apply on day one as on the last.

Incident Prevention

The most important incidents are the ones that never happen.

AEC tracks near-misses and unsafe conditions alongside recordable incidents. Regular audits and close-out tracking ensure hazards are resolved, not just recorded. Our prevention framework is structured around the hierarchy of controls: eliminate first, protect last.

Compliance Standards

Aligned with the standards our clients operate to.

Our HSE management system is structured in line with Shell Pakistan's HSSE & SP Control Framework. AEC operates in full compliance with Pakistan's occupational health and safety regulations and applies international best-practice where national standards fall short.

Sustainability

Built to last — for the environment and the communities we work in.

Environmental Protection

Operating in sensitive environments demands more than compliance.

AEC designs site operations to minimise disturbance — controlling runoff, containing spoil, and managing ground disturbance with care for what lies beyond the fence line. Environmental impact assessments are treated as operational inputs, not administrative requirements.

Waste Handling

Waste is managed as a liability, not an afterthought.

AEC segregates waste streams at source, disposes of hazardous materials through licensed contractors, and treats hydrocarbon spills as zero-tolerance matters: immediate containment, documented clean-up, root cause investigation.

Operational Efficiency

Doing more with less is an engineering discipline.

Efficiency on site reduces cost, risk, and environmental impact simultaneously. AEC continuously reviews construction methodology — sequence planning, equipment utilisation, and logistics — to eliminate waste in the broadest sense.

Local Value

Infrastructure built by the communities it serves.

AEC has operated in Pakistan for over six decades. We develop Pakistani engineering talent, train site workers from the regions we operate in, and procure from local supply chains where quality permits. The value of a major infrastructure project should not leave with the contractor.

Quality

Quality is not the end of the process — it runs through all of it.

AEC's quality management is built around prevention rather than inspection. Work is planned and executed to specification the first time. Our QA/QC programmes meet client requirements including API standards for mechanical and tank work.
